Ayin Harah- עַיִן הָרַע

Ayin Ha'ra, or the evil eye, is a superstition you will hear about often in Israel. Basically, it's associated with the negative energy of someone who is envious of someone else.

Given that today is Friday the 13th, we thought to feature the Israeli equivalent: The Ayin Ha'ra or the evil eye. Today is Friday the 13th, a day where people in American culture are superstitious and wary of bad fortune. The same is true for "Ayin Ha'ra."

If you're a superstitious person, this tip is for you! Hamsas or other talismans are said to ward off the evil eye. That's why you will see the hand-shaped symbol everywhere. Most often, it's found as jewelry as a way to constantly protect the person wearing it. Plus, it's stylish!

As they say in Israel, "Bli Ayin Ha'ra" (may you be) without the evil eye.

Have a great weekend!
