In honor of the 4th elections this year, we changed our Top 5 to Top 4 (just this once!) ideas for your day off!

Elections are typically once every four years, but Israel is approaching its fourth election in just over a year. On the positive side (because if we don’t find one, we’ll cry), that means another vacation day for many hard-working Israelis.

Here are our Top 4 ideas for you to get the most out of your day off:

01 Get out in nature

No matter where you live in Israel, you are never far from nature. If you live on the coast, take yourself to the beach for a little fresh breeze and warm sand. If you live in a city, find the closest park or trail and pack yourself a picnic and a book.

02 Spa day

This year has not been easy, take a day to pamper your body. Set your electronics aside and move slowly through your day. Light some candles, take a bath, make (or buy) some of the foods you love, and if you can, book yourself a massage.

03 Pamper your home

Is there a home decor project that you’ve been wanting to do but haven’t found the time? Did you want to get some plants, do a DIY project, spray paint something or organize your closets? Turn on your favorite music, and give yourself the time to enjoy the process.

04 Take a road trip

If you’re feeling more adventurous and want to get out, grab a few friends and jump in the car. Pick a destination but be open to stopping when something catches your eye. Go with the flow and enjoy the surprises that you find on the way.
