A Movie of Miracles and Weddings

Watch as a modern Hanukkah miracle unfolds in Israel’s quirky and romantic best-selling movie, “The Wedding Plan”-"לַעֲבֹר אֶת הַקִּיר".

We enter the scene as the protagonist, Michal, is left by her ultra-Orthodox fiancé with only a month to the wedding, which is set to take place on the 8th night of Hannukah. Tired and disheartened by her 10-year search for love, Michal decides to take a leap of faith, and freefall into the trust that God will find her the love of her life in a month’s time. She keeps her wedding date, invites 200 guests, and ventures out into the world, looking for the man that she knows God is sending her.

We follow Michal through the ups and downs of her journey, and watch with rapt attention and hope that things will work out for her, rooting for her the whole time. The movie is filled with the deep undercurrent of trust and faith in finding our own happiness, and believing that miracles are possible. Yet, the message is portrayed in a light-hearted, goofy, and quirky way which keeps us laughing.

Believing in Michal’s miracle allows us all to believe in our own miracles that we quietly hold onto in our hearts, and gives us hope!

So we recommend you get out your sufganiyot and latkes, and settle in for a journey you would never have guessed!

May this Hanukkah be filled with many miracles, both in our own lives and in the world around us!
