Potato Latkes

Hanukkah is probably one of our favorite Jewish holidays because we are supposed to eat fried foods!

A colorful dreidel used on Hanukkah

That's right, you heard us.

Eating delicious, crunchy, and oily good is part of the holiday.

How is this even possible?

Well, it was actually oil that saved the day all those years ago. In the Holy Temple, there was only enough oil to light the menorah for one day. Miraculously, it stayed lit for a whole eight days! That is why we celebrate this glorious holiday for over a week!

And that is why we indulge in the oiliest of foods. We have to, in order to commemorate the miracle!

So get out your frying pan and embrace the oil with these delicious potato latkes!
